Do you have bad breath? If you don't have halitosis or make these common mistakes in brushing your teeth, don't despair. There is a really effective way to get rid of bad breath, which nobody thinks about: water.


Bad breath can be a sign of dehydration, says Ada S. Cooper, a dental surgeon and spokesperson for the American Dental Association." Don't think using mouthwash four times a day will solve the problem,"she confides to Business Insider." When your mouth dries up, you have less saliva. And when you have less saliva, bacteria and food stay in your mouth longer."

Drink more water and you will almost never have bad breath again. But coffee, alcohol and some medications will have the opposite effect because they dry your mouth,"she adds.

There may be other reasons than dry mouth and poor oral hygiene. Dr. Cooper recommends brushing your teeth every night to eliminate the food and bacteria that will give you bad breath during your sleep.
