(How To Make Scented Sachets)
Whether it’s tucked in a drawer, parked in a linen closet, or nestled in your car, a sweet little bundle of fragrance just makes your stuff smell better! Sure you can buy sachets, but why not get personal and make your own? They aren’t too tough to make, you can control the intensity of fragrance, and whether you use them or gift them, they will always go over great!
Go ahead and make these scented sachets for your linen closet, car, luggage and clothes drawers. This is a simple DIY project with big results. You can use rice as the main ingredient because the grains absorb scents very well. A favorite combination for the sachets is vanilla and mint. But, it’s easy to play around with the smells you prefer best, especially if you have essential oils in your cupboard.
Making sachets is easy when you embellish envelopes with designs and styles of tiny and small holes and add scented ingredients.
Steps :
- Graph paper is good for making a grid. Working on a cutting mat or piece of felt, lay your template over an envelope.
- With a T-pin, punch holes through the template and envelope until the dotted design is complete.
- Fill the envelope with blends of scented ingredients. We like the following combinations: cedar tips, cedar shavings, and lavender; orange tea and dried roses; and lemon verbena, chamomile and dried lemon peel. (Vary the amount depending on the envelope size)
- With a glue stick, seal the envelope.
- Poke whimsical designs in your paper envelopes, then add your choice of aromatic blends.
The scent in your home is more important than you think!
The feeling one gets from a good scent can truly effect how you feel. You find yourself calmer, happier, more energetic - and your guests will appreciate it too!
